Yankees Team Outing

Last year the Yankees reported to spring training a week earlier and on February 23rd the team workouts were cancelled.  Not because of bad weather, but because Joe Girardi decided to have a team outing at a pool hall in Tampa. The team outing consisted of two 8-ball pair tournaments with the Mariano Rivera coming out on top both times (surprise! the guy is just good at everything). The team outing got rave reviews from players as Mark Teixeira said “that was probably the most fun I’ve ever had in spring training in my whole career”. As you can see in the pictures posted by the former LoHud Yankees Blog contributer, Peter Abraham, who has since turned to the dark side, the players had a lot of fun.  After the success that the Yankees had last season why fix what isn’t broken?

Joe Girardi said that he plans to have another team outing tomorrow and that he has told the players to be in street clothes by 10 a.m. after a brief workout.  Surprisingly, the details of the team outing have not been leaked.  While, the players loved the pool outing, Girardi indicated that he received suggestions for this year including bowling or paintball.  Girardi seemed pretty reluctant to accept either of these suggestions as they could pose an injury threat.  With secrecy surrounding the team outing tomorrow I wanted to get BronxBombersBeat readers’ opinions on what they think the team outing tomorrow might be.  Could it be pool again, bowling, paintball, a trip to an arcade, a video game tournament, or fishing?

Let us know what you think in the poll below or leave a comment if you feel that it might be something different.

What will the Yankees 2010 team outing be?

They should sit in front of a TV all day, play MLB 10 The Show to see how the season will turn out.

YANKEE FACT

06/10/2011 - On May 8, 1925, the Yankees Everett Scott sat out a game against the St. Louis Brown, ending his Major League record of 1,307 consecutive games played. Just three weeks later, Scott's teammate Lou Gehrig began a streak of 2,130 straight games that would break Scott's record and stand for decades.
