Pitching Matchups for the Tampa Bay Series
After an exciting win two nights ago at Fenway Park, the Yankees are heading to Tampa Bay to face the Rays for a 3 game weekend series starting tonight Friday, April 9th at 7:10 EDT.
Friday: RHP Javier Vazquez (15-10, 2.87 ERA in 2009) vs. LHP David Price (10-7, 4.42 ERA in 2009)
Saturday: LHP CC Sabathia (0-0, 8.44 ERA) vs. RHP Wade Davis (2-2, 3.72 ERA in 2009)
Sunday: RHP A.J. Burnett (0-0, 5.40 ERA) vs. RHP James Shields (0-0, 4.50 ERA)
Javier Vazquez can’t wait to get out there and pitch:
“It feels like its been like 10 days since I pitched. I’m just getting ready to go out there and just excited to get my first one.”
Vazquez is coming off the best seasons of his career, but it came in the National League. It’s been a year since he faced an American League lineup on the road. After mediocre starts from C.C. and A.J., look for the two of them to bounce back against the Rays.
