Mark Teixeira puts a dent in his April batting slump slamming 3 home runs during a Saturday, May 8th game against the Boston Red Sox. Adding fuel to his May firestorm, Teixeira went 4-for-6 with 5 RBI’s. To top it all, he became the only Yankee to hit 3 home runs in a single game against the Bosox, since Lou Gehrig did over 80 years ago (June 23, 1927). Teixeira is batting nearly .400 since the beginning of May, completely dismissing his awful April BA of .136. Along with Cervelli’s consistent contribution, Yanks destroy Bosox 14-3.
