Happy Friday the 13th, Yankee faithfuls!! No one in sports, is more superstitious, than baseball players.

Wade Boggs, ate chicken before every game, Nomar Garciaparra fixed his batting gloves, and tapped his toes after every pitch, just to name a few. Here are the Top 9 Baseball Superstitions.

Update on Andy Pettitte: According to Chad Jennings, Pettitte at 75 percent in sim game.

Andy Pettitte threw his sim game today in Tampa, but he felt like he was only able to push off 75 percent.

“He probably needs a little more rest, that’s all,” Joe Girardi said.

Pettitte was able to throw the full 50-pitch session, but he was not 100 percent. He will not begin a rehab assignment as early as expected. He will instead throw another simulated game before possibly pitching in a game. Girardi indicated it’s possible Pettitte will need only one more sim game before rehabbing.

New York Yankees: (71-43)

Derek Jeter SS
Curtis Granderson CF
Mark Teixeira 1B
Alex Rodriguez 3B
Robinson Cano 2B
Jorge Posada C
Lance Berkman DH
Austin Kearns RF
Brett Gardner LF

Pitching RHP: Dustin Moseley (2-1,ERA 3.86)

Some of you Yankee faithfuls might be wondering, why Swisher is not in tonight’s lineup? Well last night, Joe Girardi pulled Nick Swisher in the ninth because he was worried Swisher was on the verge of cramping. So maybe Nick is getting the night off. If there is any other reason why Swisher is not in the lineup, I will post it.

YANKEE FACT

06/10/2011 - On May 8, 1925, the Yankees Everett Scott sat out a game against the St. Louis Brown, ending his Major League record of 1,307 consecutive games played. Just three weeks later, Scott's teammate Lou Gehrig began a streak of 2,130 straight games that would break Scott's record and stand for decades.
