Congratulations to Jorge Posada! In the 6th inning of today’s game versus the Detroit Tigers, Jorge didn’t just hit an RBI single… he passed Thurman Munson to go into 17th place with 1,559 career hits. The reason why this is such a significant milestone for Posada is because, as noted by John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman, he idolizes Thurman Munson. The single also extended the Yankees lead in the game to 4-2 in the bottom of the 6th inning.
