Late Yankees owner George Steinbrenner III, who passed away on July 13, will be honored with a monument in Monument Park at Yankee Stadium, write George King of the New York Post. Prior to the Sept. 20 game vs. the Rays at the Stadium, George Steinbrenner will be honored with a monument in Monument Park. Get your tickets now as that game will definitely be a must-see as the Yankees and Rays continue the fight for the top spot in the American League East.
In a statement released by the Steinbrenner family, they were quoted as saying:
We remain profoundly grateful and touched by the many expressions of sympathy and support from so many. We wish to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and prayers, which we continue to hold close.
