The New York Yankees are on a nine-game West Coast road trip, which started in Seattle last night and ends in Anaheim. After last night’s loss (4-3) in extra-innings, the Yankees look to take the series against the Royals in tonight’s rubber-game. With a win, it would be back-to-back series wins for New York. Royals Ace, Bruce Chen, was supposed to start tonight but was placed on the 15-day disable list with a left lat strain. Replacing Chen is Vin Mazzaro, who will make his 2011 debut tonight. Mazzaro has a 1-0 with a 4.91 ERA while walking 13 and striking out 27, with Triple-A Omaha. Mazzaro is no stranger to the Yankees. 06/10/2011 - On May 8, 1925, the Yankees Everett Scott sat out a game against the St. Louis Brown, ending his Major League record of 1,307 consecutive games played. Just three weeks later, Scott's teammate Lou Gehrig began a streak of 2,130 straight games that would break Scott's record and stand for decades.
