Rivera’s Road To History

Posted by Colin MacNeil in MLB, NY Yankees on 09 17th, 2011 | No Comments

With that being said, I would like to share with you, Mariano Rivera’s milestone saves, begining with his 100th save and ending with his 600th save. Enjoy! 100th save 200th save 300th save 450th save 500th save 600th...

Robinson Cano Wins Home Run Derby

Posted by Brian Capozzi in MLB, NY Yankees on 07 12th, 2011 | No Comments
For the first time in 9 years, a New York Yankee has won the Home Run Derby. This wasn’t just any win… it came in the midst of an epic slugfest with Red Sox home run leader Adrian Gonzalez. With his father pitching to him for all three rounds, Robinson Cano blasted 8 home runs in round giving him enough home runs to advance to round two. Gonzalez might have hit 9 home runs in round 1, but Cano hit 12 bombs in the 2nd round to tie Gonzalez for the top 2 spots… each with 20 homers apiece. This typical Yankees-Red Sox rivalry was going down to the wire. In Gonzalez 3rd round,...

What Will Jeter’s 3000 Hit Be?

Posted by Colin MacNeil in MLB, NY Yankees on 07 6th, 2011 | 1 Comment
As I was watching last night’s game and knowing that Derek Jeter is just four-hits shy of 3000, I thought, how will Jeter get it. Will it be a home run, triple, double or a single? However it may be, we are going to be witnessing history as Jeter will be the first Yankee to hit 3000. The last Yankee player to come close to getting 3000 hits was, The Iron Horse – Lou Gehrig – 2721 hits. When Derek hits 3000, he’ll be the 28th player in Major League history to reach that plateau and will be tied for 27th all-time with the great Roberto Clemente. I know Yankee fans...

YANKEE FACT

06/10/2011 - On May 8, 1925, the Yankees Everett Scott sat out a game against the St. Louis Brown, ending his Major League record of 1,307 consecutive games played. Just three weeks later, Scott's teammate Lou Gehrig began a streak of 2,130 straight games that would break Scott's record and stand for decades.
